French Toast with Cinnamon Apples

8 slices white bread
6 eggs
½  cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
Maple Syrup, to serve
Cinnamon or cinnamon sugar
Knob of butter

6 Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Teaspoon butter
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Steam apples with a tiny dash of water till tender and stir through the syrup, cinnamon and butter

In a large bowl lightly beat the eggs, milk, sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar together until well combined. Preheat a nonstick frying pan with a light rub of butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mix until well coated on both sides. Place bread straight into the warm pan.  Cook until golden brown on both sides of the bread. This should take approx 2-3 mins. Serve with the cinnamon apples and an extra dash of maple syrup.
