COVID-19 – Advice for Customers

Fluffy Scones

Sweet Ingredients:
3 cups SR flour
1 carton of Harvey Fresh Cream
1 egg, separated
Salt
1/3 cup sugar

Sweet Method:
Mix together the flour, salt, egg yolk, sugar and cream to form a soft but not sticky dough.
Handle quickly and do not knead for more than 30 seconds.  Press out with the palms of your hands to approx 7cm thick and cut into desired shapes with a knife or cookie cutter. Place on a baking tray and glaze with the egg white.  Place in a hot oven (200) for 10 to 12 minutes. Serve with fresh whipped cream, fresh strawberries or strawberry jam.

Savoury Ingredients:
3 cups SR flour
1 carton Harvey Fresh cream
1 whole egg
½ teaspoon each of salt and fresh cracked pepper
1 teaspoon Whittington’s smoked paprika
1 bunch chives
½ cup shredded cheese

Savoury Method:
Mix as above but add the chives, paprika and cheese as you quickly knead the dough.  Bake as above but sprinkle a little extra cheese and paprika on the scones when you remove them.

Serves: 8

Chicken Parmigiana Sausage Bake

Ingredients:
1 packet of Drovers Chicken Parmigiana Sausage
2 large brown onions roughly chopped
6 to 8 large ripe tomatoes roughly chopped
1 cup shredded cheese of your choice
Salt and pepper
½ cup fresh chopped basil
Knob of butter

Method:
Pre heat the oven to 200 degrees. Lay the onions and tomatoes in a deep baking tray. Season with salt and pepper and add the knob of butter. Place the uncooked sausages on top and cover with foil to seal the dish. Cook for approx 35 to 40 minutes and remove. Sprinkle cheese over the sausages and place in the oven uncovered and bake until browned.  Remove and sprinkle with the fresh basil.  *These sausages have very little fat and are ideal for this type of dish
